The Turkmenistan delegation participated in the First Meeting of Governors of the Caspian Littoral States in Rasht, Iran

On 18–19 November 2025, the turkmen delegation headed by the Hyakim of Balkan velayat H.Ashyrmyradov was on a working visit to the Gilan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The purpose of the visit was to participate in the First Meeting of Governors of the Caspian littoral states’ coastal regions, which took place in the city of Rasht.

The event was attended by members of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, governors of the coastal regions of the Caspian littoral states, distinguished guests, representatives of the diplomatic corps and other officials.

Speeches were delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Mohammadreza Salehi Amiri, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi, the Governor of Gilan Province Hadi Hagshenas the Governor of Balkan velayat H.Ashyrmyradov, as well as the governors of other coastal regions of the Caspian littoral states and the governors of Iranian provinces located along the coast of the Persian Gulf.

The speakers noted issues related to strengthening trade-economic cooperation among the Caspian littoral states, developing new avenues of interaction and establishing cooperation with the regions of the Persian Gulf.

Within the framework of the visit, the Hyakim of Balkan velayat held meetings with the Governor of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation I.Babushkin, and the Governor of Gilan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.Hagshenas.

Furthermore, the delegation familiarized itself with the capabilities of the port located in the Anzali Free Trade Zone in Gilan Province and visited an exhibition showcasing the region’s economic potential.
