TURKMEN ATHLETES ATTAIN GOOD RESULTS IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

The Turkmen national team participated to the World Martial Arts Masterships that took place from August 27 till September 7 in Chungju (Republic of Korea) and was attended by more than 4000 athletes from 100 countries of the world.   

         In Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, our compatriots thrice became the awardees of the competitions.  The junior (third-year) student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Ms.Veronica Rous in the 63 kilos weight category and the junior (third-year) student of the Turkmen State Architecture-Construction Institute Jelilmuhammed Hojamuradov (69 kg) received the highest prizes in their respective categories.

       The tournaments in Sambo and Combat Sambo which took place on the 4th of September brought to the national team five medals, three of which have the highest probe.  

         On the 5th of September, the highest level of the pedestal was attained by the senior (fifth-year) student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport Abdulla Babayev who didn’t have equivalents in the 68 kilos weight category.  The third-year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport Begench Baltayev received the bronze medal in the 74 kilos weight category.       

The World Martial Arts Masterships held the South Korean city of Chungju are completed and the results of the performance of the national team of Turkmenistan at these prestigious competitions are noteworthy – 25 medals of different values, among which nine are golden.   

The «FIBA 3x3 Asia Quest 2019 Final» international basketball tournament was held in the city of Male (Republic of Maldives) during the period of September 6-9 2019 and gathered 64 athletes from 16 countries including Turkmenistan. 

Our basketball players demonstrated high proficiency in this sharp competition and were awarded the silver medals by receiving the second place.
