Issues of bilateral intergovernmental dialogue between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were discussed
Today, on July 16, on the sidelines of the International Conference «Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and opportunities» Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, R. Meredov conveyed the words of greetings and respect from President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the President of Uzbekistan.
The parties expressed timeliness of holding this forum which became a kind of platform for discussion and search for solutions to pressing issues of our time.
It was especially emphasized that Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality, has always acted and continues to be an active participant of regional and interregional cooperation.
The interaction between the two countries on a wide range of issues in the political-diplomatic and trade-economic spheres was considered, taking into account the current objective situations at the regional and global levels. The significance of holding the next meeting of the Joint intergovernmental commission.
The preparation for the Consultative meeting of the Heads of the states of Central Asia countries, which is planned to be held on the 6th of August of current year in the Awaza National Tourist Zone was discussed.
The parties stated that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan are in the nature of a strategic partnership. Of course, regular contacts at the highest level play an important role in maintaining such a high level bilateral cooperation.
