Meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the Deputy Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation

On September 5, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Deputy Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Kazuhiko Amakawa.

Thanking the President of Turkmenistan for the time provided for the meeting, the guest noted Turkmenistan's achievements in the economic sphere, as well as the great interest of Japanese business circles in working in the promising Turkmen market.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that business relations between Turkmenistan and Japan are always based on mutual respect and equality. Regular high-level visits give impetus to the development of these relations, filling them with new meaning and content.

As noted, Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development of macroeconomic policy, improvement of financial markets and expansion of investment opportunities.

Noting that Turkmenistan, which has rich deposits of natural resources, aims to develop this area through diversification, the Head of the State emphasized the great contribution of Japanese companies to the effective use of the economic potential of our country.

Kazuhiko Amakawa, in turn, noted that as a result of economic development programs and reforms in the industrial sector, favorable conditions for doing business are created in Turkmenistan, emphasizing the commitment of the Bank he heads to intensifying cooperation with our country in new areas.

Speaking about Turkmenistan's big plans for the production and processing of natural gas, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed country's readiness to consider specific proposals from the Japanese side for further cooperation in new areas.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the partnership established between Turkmenistan and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation will effectively develop on a mutually beneficial basis, wishing Kazuhiko Amakawa all the best.
